Most recently Principal Architect and cofounder at Data Equity, where I led the architecture of an AI-driven data monetisation platform — from a generative-AI API schema builder trained on 16,000+ definitions, to a RAG-based enterprise contract generator on Mistral + LangChain, to a certified Peppol gateway for cross-border eInvoicing.
Before that I cofounded Perse Technologies, an energy-switching platform serving 50k+ concurrent users that exited successfully. Earlier I architected a £140M transformation at UK Power Networks and led Apigee's enterprise migrations for Dell, Intel, Vodafone, and the World Bank. Two decades of shipping enterprise software — and the teams that ship it.
Two areas I've gone deep on. API platforms and integration: 12+ years across Apigee (SOAP-to-REST, OAuth, SAML at Fortune 500 scale), IBM IIB / MQ / Datapower in regulated environments, MuleSoft and AWS API Gateway in cloud-native ones, Kafka for event-driven, and Data Equity's own API Studio + Marketplace end-to-end. Two decades thinking about where to put the boundary between systems and how to keep it stable as the business changes.
And energy & utilities: five years architecting UK Power Networks' £140M transformation across SAP, SCADA, telephony, workforce management, and contractor systems — then three more cofounding Perse, an automated consumer energy-switching platform integrated with industry data providers. I know this industry's regulatory shape, the legacy data integrations, and the customer-journey friction from both the supplier and the consumer side.

Cofounder & Principal ArchitectData Equity LtdMar 2023 – Feb 2026
- Architected a generative-AI model trained on 16,000+ API definitions to auto-generate OpenAPI schemas; deployed on AWS SageMaker + API Gateway, infrastructure via AWS CDK and EKS.
- Shipped a RAG-based enterprise contract generator on Mistral LLM + LangChain with AOSS vector storage; designed the end-to-end API lifecycle from DE API Studio through to DE API Marketplace.
- Unlocked new revenue streams for gaming and shipping clients; $120K ARR in year one. Recruited and mentored a cross-disciplinary team across frontend, backend, DevOps, and data science.

- Cofounded and led the technical vision for an automated utility-switching platform serving 50k+ concurrent users; led an ML initiative for usage patterns and personalised carbon management suggestions.
- Provisioned AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda) via Terraform with automated GitHub Actions CI/CD; delivered a first-of-its-kind capability to identify customer utility details that most consumers don't know themselves.
- Up to £200/year savings per customer; led the business to a successful exit.

Problem
Enterprise API teams spend weeks turning ideas into well-formed, consistent API contracts, and even longer drafting the legal contracts that govern their use. We wanted to compress both into minutes without losing the rigour.
Approach
- Fine-tuned a generative model on a corpus of 16,000+ OpenAPI definitions to suggest endpoints, schemas, and naming conventions matching house style.
- Built a RAG pipeline over enterprise contract templates so the generator could draft clause-level language grounded in real precedent.
- Wrapped both in a React workspace with reviewer-friendly diffs and one-click export to OpenAPI / Word.
Impact
- 60% lift in document automation efficiency for enterprise contract drafting.
- Anchor capability for Data Equity's commercial launch — first ARR landed within the first year.

A unified marketplace for API discovery, integration, and monetisation — from DE API Studio authoring through to metered billing and analytics.

Problem
API providers want their endpoints discovered and integrated by the right developers fast; developers want a single place to evaluate, try, and pay for APIs without learning a new portal each time.
Approach
- Designed a multi-tenant portal that ingests OpenAPI / GraphQL specs and renders Swagger and Redoc documentation side-by-side.
- Modelled flexible commercials — subscription, pay-as-you-go, and freemium — with metered billing baked in.
- Pre-built onboarding workflows for sign-up, key issuance, scoped permissions, and review-then-publish for provider-side governance.
- Surfaced usage analytics for both providers and consumers to make commercial decisions data-driven.
Impact
- Cut API time-to-market for providers — list, document, and meter in a single workflow.
- Productised the platform that anchors Data Equity's marketplace strategy.

Problem
Operating Peppol infrastructure independently means dealing with AS4 transport, per-country XML rules, SML lookups, certification, archiving, and a sprawl of jurisdictional quirks. Most ERPs, banks, and platforms shouldn't have to do that themselves.
Approach
- Built a certified Access Point speaking AS4 over TLS 1.3, with sub-second SML lookups for participant registration.
- Exposed a single REST API that handles UBL and PINT documents across 20+ jurisdictions (AU, NZ, SG, MY, JP, EU, UK).
- Layered BIS 3.0 plus country-specific validation, multi-tenant RBAC, ISO 27001 controls, and tamper-evident archiving.
- Sandbox-to-production in days, with data-residency controls per tenant.
Impact
- 99.95% uptime SLA in production.
- Lets ERPs, banks, and accounting platforms ship cross-border compliance without standing up their own Peppol stack.
